Pacific Pottery Hostessware #439 2-cup teapot
The little 2-cup 439 is the smallest of all the Hostessware teapots. This piece was sold with two different lids. The most common lid is shown in the photos (button-style). Less common is a tabbed lid that shares a design with the 427A lid. The tabbed design also shows up in advertising pieces.
A couple of years ago, I came across a similarly styled and unmarked teapot in white that I assumed was a later restyled design. However, I believe that some time in the 80s or 90s, the design was reproduced by a foreign manufacturer. The design for the 447 seems to have been “borrowed” as well; one has been spotted in dark pink.
Companion to the 407 and 408 individual creamer and sugar
Colors: Found in early colors; most common in red
